Jack's Room Gets an Update

I was perusing through my house tour photos this weekend and realized that some of the snapshots of the house have become a bit out dated.  I've done some tweaks on my son Jack's room that I decided to share.  I have more projects in this room up my sleeve that are in partial stages and will share them once they're completed.  For now, here are some of the things I've done...minor, but I think they make a big difference.

I moved the Home Goods mirror from one side of the room to the other.  Now it's over his headboard.  I also added two Target Threshold turquoise bolsters over the weekend to tie in the drapes.   I've swapped out the throw at the bottom of the bed for a brown and beige hounds tooth (another Home Goods find).  And lastly, I moved the mid-century style chair from the other side of the room over to the bedside.

I've tried to find ways to still capture my six year old's taste in the room.  This little nook has become a reading nook.  The wire hanger stores his favorite books and the Boston Bruins memorabilia is his favorite team (and I had to let the poor guy have some 'say' in his own room).

I've also started to transition some of the younger decorations in the room (like the baby bird framed numbers from 'One to Ten') for elements that will grow with Jack as he gets older.   I've been working on a gray and orange lacquer dresser (additional post to follow).  I still need hardware but this is where this new dresser will go.

I continue to mix patterns and textures.

I won this fabulous Moose Head from Uncommon Goods from Jessie at Mix and Chic's Giveaway!

great job as usual! I love your taste and your bold use of color! Im color crazed over here as well, but don't use it as boldly in my home, more in the art I create.
