Rehoboth's R Squared Designs

Earlier this week I introduced you to J. Conn Scott Showhouse along the trendy Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth, Delaware.  Today, I'm sharing another favorite stopping ground along the avenue, R Squared Designs.

R Squared Designs debuted along Baltimore Avenue this spring, 2014.  It's officially located at 39 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  302.212.2703.   It's the brainchild of Rex Rogosch and partner Wayne Knaub.    Rex was at the store when I stopped in last week.  (What a cutie).  He was wearing one of his trademark bow-ties, a style he's become known for over the last several years.  Rex has been in the interior design business for over 20 years and opened R Squared Designs as an avenue to really showcase his talent.

The shop was filled with wonderfully modern home décor accessories.  I was drawn to the cow-hide serving tray and marble wine chiller.  The furniture offered sleek lines and clean details.

Rex custom designed this unique topiary chandelier.  Birds are another theme in his designs and this would make a fun statement in a sitting room!

The store was creative and inviting.  It should definitely be a stop on your shopping tour along Baltimore Avenue.  You never know when they'll be serving up a little champagne.

Look for the red "R" sign out front and Rex in a bowtie inside.  If you do stop by, tell him Vivid Hue Home sent you!

Enjoy your stroll along these fabulous home design shops.  You'll find serious eye candy!

Visit Rehoboth's Trendy Baltimore Ave: J.Conn Scott Showhouse

As a reformed Army-brat, I call Northern Virginia my "childhood home" simply because we lived there for ten straight years in my youth.  My dad kept getting reassigned  to the Pentagon so my family was fortunate enough not to have to relocate.  During our summers, we would venture off to the Delaware beaches which are very popular for DC area residents.  Bethany, Dewey, Rehoboth.   We would spend literally weeks at a time making the trek back and forth.

My dad is now a retired Army Colonel and still lives in McLean with my mom.  (Recall stories about my mama here).  They still head to Rehoboth multiple times each summer.

Last week, I decided to join them and relive some of my childhood memories of Rehoboth.  With my mom (now 'mor-mor'), Dad (now 'Grandpa Dewey') and kids in tow, we set forth for a few days of adventure at the beach.

There are many things I love about this area...but in recent years, one of my most favorite pastimes is visiting the numerous home furnishing stores that have opened up along Baltimore Avenue.  They are surprisingly high-end, very fashionable and extremely well represented in design!

One is called J. Conn Scott "Showhouse."  Located at 27 Baltimore Ave.  Tel. 302-227 3780.
J. Conn Scott "Showhouse" displays high end furnishings from designers such as Drexel, Hickory Chair, Vanguard, Curry & Company, Bungalow 5, Lee Industries, Lily Pulitzer, Company C and more.

Each room in the store showcases a different look and the owners swap out the entire look of the rooms on a regular basis.

They also offer unique lighting and accessories and the perfect gift items.

This picture is blurry, but I loved the floor in the "Lily Pulitzer" room...

It's a fun shop to peruse through.  It's very likely that no two visits will be alike!  I'd highly recommend stopping by if you find yourself in Rehoboth.  Check back soon for tours through some of my other favorite home stores in Rehoboth, like R Squared Designs

DIY Candy Burgers

This has been a very fast-moving and exciting summer with the kids.  This explains why my posts are few and far between lately.  We've had trips to visit family, excursions to the beach and afternoons making crafts.  Recently, the kids and I embarked on making 'burgers.'  It was a fun and easy project that rendered tasty little treats.

All we needed were a few 'Nilla wafers, thin mints, food-colored icing and fruit roll ups.
We slathered a bit of icing on the bottom of a wafer.  Added the thin mint on top.  We cut green colored fruit roll ups to simulate "lettuce" and then added some more "mustard" and "ketchup" to the top of the thin mint.  Next, top it off with the final wafer...and voila!

The kids had a blast making these miniature burgers (and even more fun eating them).  Other versions of this project used coconut flakes (dyed green) for the lettuce.  And a few sesame seeds on top of the wafer for 'bun seeds.'

Have you done any kids' projects this year to share?  Please send them my way!

Vivid Hue Home Ottoman Giveaway!

Thank you to all of my Vivid Hue Homies who commented about the updates to my guest bedroom in my post, ORC Updates to Guest Bedroom.

Many of you inquired about the little navy and white ottoman at the foot of the bed.  This is a new addition to the room and it gives me great storage!  This adorable ottoman is from Dorel Home Products.

You may recall that we also use this guest room as my daughter Vivi's sleeping room.  This little ottoman gives me a place to "hide" all of her little toys and trinkets.  Out of sight, out of mind (until she empties its entire contents throughout the room)!   I love the modern pattern and the fabric is a plush micro fiber.  I received this product from Dorel Home Products to facilitate this review, but I was not compensated monetarily for any of my opinions.  All of my opinions are expressly my own and are an honest evaluation of this product.

And now, I have been given the opportunity to offer ya'll a chance to win an ottoman of your very own!  That's right!  I'm hosting a giveaway for the exact same navy & white storage ottoman (ok, I promise yours will be new.  Sent directly from DHP).  Read on to find out how:
